Council Election Hustings

Question Time style panel-debate organised by Friends of the Earth with candidates in the upcoming Council Elections. Questions centred on ‘Food, Culture and Regeneration’.

Thursday 27 April, 7pm-9pm | The Stove, 100 High Street, DG1 2BJ
In conjunction with The Stove in Dumfries High Street, Friends of the Earth, Dumfries is hosting a hustings to enable candidates standing for election to Dumfries & Galloway Council in May to answer questions from Dumfries residents and debate some of the local issues with other candidates.
The event will take place at The Stove on Thursday 27th April, from 7pm to 9pm, and will take the form of an Any Questions-style debate.  It will be independently chaired and will be ticketed, but free.
Tickets will be available from The Stove or by email from foe.dumfries@gmx.co.uk from Thursday 20th April.  The Stove can accommodate up to 40 people.
The six-person panel will comprise nominated candidates for the Dumfries wards from the political parties, but at least two places will be reserved – on a first come, first served, basis – for independent candidates.
The theme of the hustings will be ‘Food, Culture and Regeneration’ and questions relating to this theme will be prioritised.  Questions on other themes may be taken at the discretion of the organisers.  If you wish to submit a question for the panel please send it to foe.dumfries@gmx.co.ukby Monday 23rd April.
