Craftivism – Stitch In at The Stove
October 28, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until November 25, 2015
As part of this years ArtCOP – a cultural programme coinciding with the Paris Climate Change Talks in December – The Stove will be hosting a series of craftivism Stitch In’s with our herald Moxie, and craftivist enthusiast Joy Cherkaoui.
Craftivism is a global movement, a ‘slow-activism’ encouraging thoughtful action, discussion, gathering and the learning of new skills. As part of our open drop-in sessions we will be joining the Heart On Your Sleeve campaign, a national project led by craftivist Sarah Corbett, and creating a banner to be carried as part of the Stop Climate Chaos Rally in Edinburgh in November. Work created can also be displayed as part of The Stove’s Submerge exhibition in December.
Stitch In’s at The Stove will take place every Wednesday, from 5pm to 8pm and are drop in events, so pop by when you can. Teas and Coffees will be available as well as materials and help to get you started. These sessions are open to everyone, but children must be supervised.
