We are delighted to invite you to an evening exhibition of works by the For Enjoyment community, in collaboration with Brave New Words.
In May, as part of our homegrown project during Lockdown, we invited writing contributions from Brave New Words participants in response to the prompt, Places Where We Dream. This collection of writing was shared with the For Enjoyment community who then created a range of responses during their regular online sessions together. The resulting exhibition is a broad range of styles, ideas and interpretations, a flavour of our time in isolation.

About For Enjoyment
For Enjoyment has been hugely impactful in the last 4 years in Dumfries and across the region and has changed the lives of countless people who have been involved with its events workshops and 1:1 engagements. A large cross-section of people from all walks of life of all ages and abilities, have come together to form a community of creatives. Anybody can attend events and be welcomed into a warm, supportive and nurturing environment where everybody is welcomed, supported and encouraged to discover themselves and their artistic strengths through the wonderful journey that is creative practice.
F.E is a social enterprise, we engage a vast cross section of the community from looked after children to the retired, from people with additional support needs and full time working adults. It is a totally unique and nurturing environment that is a perfect setting for anyone who needs to get back on their feet again or take time out of a busy week just to be creative.
F.E use drawing, printing and photography as creative outlets to engage people, no level of experience is needed and all equipment and support is provided, costs are kept low so as to keep the workshops and events truly accessible. Numerous venues and locations across the region are used so as to give people new experiences and to highlight the many hidden gems that we have in D&G.
We are able to bring this exhibition to the Stove in person, as part of a new project titled Elsewhere. Elsewhere looks to investigate the impact of COVID on our understanding of public space and town centres, now that the familiar has become elsewhere how can we invite communities safely back into their public spaces? Elsewhere is part of Atlas Pandemica.
