The Stove is seeking a young person (25 or under) with an interest in becoming a creative producer to be involved in this year’s Nithraid River Festival and Sailing Race.
Nithraid is a community-led River Festival beside and on Dumfries’ River Nith. We are looking for a young person or persons to take charge of tracking the race, both sail race and coastal rowing race, as they travel up the river. You will work closely with the race producer and the site producer so that the two elements of the festival work hand in hand with the race tracking. The internship will have a large role in organising the racers, the safety team and help building the pontoons that are at the race end point, so you must be able to swim and not have a fear of water.
Nithraid 2019 will take place on Saturday 31stof August. This role will run from the beginning of July through to the week after Nithraid for break down and debrief.
Your role will include:
- One half day of work per week in the lead up to the event
- Two days for set up of event
- One day for the event
- One day for take down
- An additional half day to debrief.
There will be extra opportunities to integrate and learn through this opportunity and the applicant is encouraged to make use of this as a way of building further possibilities for themselves.
The fee is £800 with the opportunity for an extra £200 towards training, such as Health and Safety or First Aid.
