Forgotten Doors
Remembering iconic buildings of Dumfries through image, poetry and reminiscence.
Forgotten Doors was curated by Hugh Bryden, Hugh McMillan and Stuart A Paterson, and featured seven of Dumfries’ long-lost buildings, brought back to life in a day of poetry and art, plus an eighth ‘Future Door’. Large, free-standing representations of the forgotten doors appeared around the town in their former homes. Local poets and writers contributed new writing in response to these forgotten places, and a poets tour guided visitors around the town centre.
