Stove Member Commission – Creative Producer with Young Stove

An opportunity for a Stove member to work with the Young Stove over a six week period from January as they work towards an exhibition and series of pop up interventions and performances in Glasgow.

We are looking for someone with experience (and/or enthusiasm and desire to gain experience) in curating and producing exhibitions/temporary events who can bring support the Young Stove in the run up to their next public project. The project (working title ‘Glasgow Project’) will be delivered in Glasgow but organised mainly from Dumfries and Galloway.

The commission will require a minimum of three evening sessions in Dumfries, and potentially one session in Glasgow in the run up to the exhibition – working alongside an emerging team of artists, with the support of Young Stove producer and organiser Michael Moore.

You will be expected to work independently with the Young Stove*, but will be supported by a member of the Stove Curatorial Team, and will have initial project meetings in December with Katie Anderson, who currently leads on Young Stove projects (NB Katie will be away through January 2016).

The Stove Network can offer £450 for this commission, to cover all expenses and fees.

To apply, please send a brief statement as to why you are interested in this commission, and examples of previous work including working with young people, and/or curatorial or producer experience.

Please send applications to:

Application deadline:            Monday 7th December 2015

The Young Stove is a group of emerging artists aged 18 to 30, who in collaboration with and in support of The Stove Network produce and organise their own events, as well as taking part in events and activity as part of the wider Stove Network and Dumfries and Galloway creative scene.

*If the successful applicant does not have current PVG Disclosure then this will be arranged by The Stove Network
