August 26 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
A Dynamic Collective of Sound Explorers Embark on a captivating musical journey with the Free Improvisation Ensemble, a brand-new group of talented multi-instrumentalists and sound-makers hailing from Dumfries & Galloway.
This extraordinary collective emerged from the creative energy of regular monthly sessions coordinated by the musician Calum Walker, as part of the Stove’s ‘Open Hoose‘ project.
Combining ethereal soundscapes and mesmerising improvised compositions, each piece unfolds organically through the art of improvisational composition.
With no rigid rules in place, the music blossoms through pure intuition, as every player responds, questions, arrives, and fades away, creating a tapestry of sonic exploration that constantly evolves in a dynamic, innovative, and utterly refreshing way.
Their electrifying performances are not to be missed. Don’t let this extraordinary musical experience pass you by.
This event is ‘Pay what you feel’, (recommended £5).
