The Oven Christmas Pop-Up Salon Show

Call for artworks!

Are you an artist or maker with art works sitting about your house/flat/studio? Want to sell some work before Christmas? The Oven are running a salon show – a traditional style show with works hung floor to ceiling with almost every inch of space covered by artworks: paintings, drawings, photos, prints, textiles, films, small sculptures and more.

They are inviting artists / makers to deliver artworks to The Oven for consideration. Final selection will depend on numbers received. They will require submissions to be dropped off from Thursday November 28th to Saturday 30th November (between 12-5pm).

They will also accept submissions by post. Postal submissions may be sent: C/O Kevin Reid, The Stove Network, 100 High Street, Dumfries, DG1 2BJ. These must be received by 2nd December.

Pieces can be any size (in theory); in fact a diverse range of sizes makes the show more interesting. You can submit one piece of work for consideration, they hope to accommodate all works but final selection will depend on numbers and how many entries we receive. They will also accept film work for inclusion in a showreel. Please ‘dropbox’ or ‘web transfer’ any film files to Kevin at –

The Oven will be selling pieces with a small commission at 20% – this goes to help keep The Oven running as an arts space for a few extra months into 2020.

Donations of works are also accepted, if you just fancy helping out The Oven, or if you just want to show some of your art to be collected upon closing that’s fine.

The show will run for two weeks from Saturday 7th of Dec until Saturday 21st December with an evening reception on Saturday 7th (7 – 10pm) with drinks, nibbles and music.
