Print House: Open Day
May 30 @ 10:30 am – 5:30 pm
PRINT HOUSE — LAUNCH DAY
We’re opening the doors to the Print House – a new space for making, experimenting, and getting ideas out in the world.
Join us for a full day of hands-on workshops to kick things off.

Introduction to Risograph
10:30am – 1:30pm
A hands-on introduction to risograph printing.
A process that sits somewhere between photocopier and screenprint, known for its bold colours, textured layers, and unpredictable charm.
In this 3-hour session, you’ll learn the basics: how to prepare artwork, build layers, and print your own two-colour design. You’ll leave with your own prints and a solid grounding in the process.
Whether it’s your first time or you’re brushing up your skills, this is a chance to get stuck in, try things out, and see what happens. Expect good tunes, good chat, and a drink to mark the launch.

Dumfries Poster Workshop
2:30pm – 5:30pm
An open, creative making space for anyone with something to say – whether it’s a wedding, a gig, a cause, or just something that deserves to be out there.
Taking cues from the spirit of the Camden Poster Workshop, this session is about using print as a tool to share ideas, promote something, or just experiment with new forms.
Work with collage, illustration, and bold graphic approaches to design and produce your own poster. Whether you’re promoting a gig, testing an idea, or just playing around, you’ll be supported by two facilitators to bring something to life.
No experience needed. No pressure to get it “right.” And no AI!

What is risograph printing?
Risograph (or ‘riso’) is a gloriously unpredictable print process that sits somewhere between screen printing and photocopying. It uses bright soy-based inks and a stencil-based method to produce bold, textured, layered prints with a beautifully handmade feel.
Each colour is printed one or two layers at a time – meaning happy accidents, weird overlaps, and slight misregistrations are all part of the charm. It’s fast, affordable, eco-conscious, and ideal for posters, zines, flyers, art prints, comics, and more.
Riso is loved for its vibrant colours that can’t be replicated through digital means, low-fi textures, and its power to turn the ordinary into something full of life and energy. It’s a bit like magic – but with rollers and drums
