Lochside Public Art Project

Lochside Public Art Project

An 18 month project based in North West Dumfries working in partnership with DGHP and the Creative Futures project. The project looks to bring the opportunity for local residents to have an impact and influence on their local environment and places, through a series of permanent visual artworks and projects, and community events and activities in the surrounding areas.

Over the course of the project we looked at four sites and themes around Lochside:

Tattiefields: By artist Katie Anderson, and Richard East of City Design Co-operative Landscape Architects, which was completed in September 2018.

Wildlife: Led by local resident Michelle Johnston, with dyker Tam Potts and artist Chris Taylor of Clayworks Studios, Dumfries.

Signs and Symbols: Led by Kat Loudon, of Design by Zag, completed in Spring 2019.

Corners and Offcuts: By artists and sculptors, Susheila Jamieson and James Gordon, which was completed in December 2018.
